Construction has now resumed on the Kibby Road project following the 4th of July Holiday. The revised construction schedule calls for completion of the project by the end of next week.
In the past week, the contractor graded the gravel base in the roundabout, placed the curb around the inside of the roundabout, did housekeeping and worked for the County to construct the new parking lot on Denton Road. Kibby Road had been temporarily opened to accommodate the traffic for the Fourth of July holiday.
Starting today and tomorrow, the concrete crew will place the stamped decorative concrete apron between the curb and the wall in the center of the roundabout. A sign crew will be onsite to install new permanent signs. And the road crew will adjust the tops of manholes and valves up to match the top of the new pavement.
In the first part of next week, the road crew will continue to prep the road for paving and work to restore the last greenbelt areas. In the second half of next week, the paving crew will arrive to pave the base course in the roundabout and the top course over the entire project. The pavement will then be striped. At that point, work will be substantially complete and the road will be opened to traffic.
