Grand Champion Ken-Bear’s Herbie, the Love Bug and Laurie LaZebnik join Bart on today’s show. Herbie will be competing next week in the Westminster Kennel Club annual show in New York City. Herbie is the nation’s seventh ranked Old English Sheepdog. Update: Laurie shares her recipe for “bait” treats used in dog show competitions: Cathy Drummond’s Irresistible Dog Show Bait. Mix in food processor until smooth: 1 cup flour, 1 cup cornmeal, 1/4 cup wheat germ, 3/4 cup water, 1 pound liver (organic calf, cow or chicken), 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Pour into a greased 9×12 pan. Bake at 325-350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut into dog bite sized squares.
