Lumen Christi Catholic School announced the hiring of Tray Crusciel as Athletic Director starting this summer.

Mr. Crusciel joins Lumen Christi from Benton Harbor High School where he served this past year as Athletic Director and Vice Principal. He previously revived the athletic program at Covert High School as their Athletic Director for three years.

Mr. Crusciel graduated from Battle Creek Harper Creek High School and Western Michigan University, and has a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Wayne State University.

Jerry Reis will continue on as Athletic Director Emeritus supporting the Athletic Department.

According to a press release, Tray looks forward to building on Lumen Christi’s impressive history of success across the Athletic Department. Tray says, “I’m truly excited to be here at Lumen Christi Catholic School. Lumen Christi has a tremendously rich history of excellence and success and to be able to lead this department at the helm is a blessing. Athletics is so very important to the overall educational experience and I’m very passionate about helping kids find growth and success through the avenue of sports and physical fitness. I look forward to working with the amazing coaches that Lumen Christi has to offer and serving our students, community, and this district as Athletic Director with nothing less than my very best.”

Principal Stephanie Kristovic says, “I’m thrilled to have someone with Tray’s breadth and depth of experience join the Lumen Christi team. His energy, enthusiasm, development of character, attention to detail, and work ethic echoes our values and will work to continue to make our athletic programs exceptional growers of outstanding young men and women, as well as very successful programs.”

The school plans on offering opportunities for the community to meet the new Athletic Director at upcoming school functions and athletic events.
