The Jackson County Fair announced this morning Lynyrd Skynyrd has been added to the entertainment lineup for the 2020 Fair.
Lynyrd Skynyrd will make one last stop at the Jackson County Fair as part of their “Last of the Street Survivors Final Farewell Tour.” The southern rock band will perform Tuesday, August 11th at 7:00PM on the main stage.
Original band member Gary Rossington fronts the band on its final tour. The show celebrates a career that has spanned more than 40 years and includes a catalog of more than 60 albums with more than 30 million units sold. The tour derives its name from their song “The Last of the Street Survivors,” and the band’s multi-platinum studio album, “Street Survivors.”
The legendary rockers are best known for the RIAA Platinum-certified “Sweet Home Alabama” and self-proclaimed signature song, “Free Bird,” that Rolling Stone said was “easily the most requested live song in existence.” With hits such as “Simple Man,” “Gimme Three Steps,” “What’s Your Name,” Tuesday’s Gone,” Call Me the Breeze,” Rolling Stone named Lynyrd Skynyrd one of its 100 Greatest Bands of All Time.
The Fair earlier announced Toby Keith will be the opening night act at the 2020 Jackson County Fair on Sunday, August 9th.
Tickets for Lynyrd Skynyrd go on sale Saturday, February 8th, 2020 and can be purchased at the Jackson County Fair Box Office, etix.com or can be charged by calling (800) 517-3849 or (517) 788-4405.
