Manchester High School will advance to the state team wrestling finals. The Flying Dutchmen won the schools 12th regional title with a win over Springport in the finals at home on Wednesday.

Manchester defeated Springport 58-14 before the home crowd. The Flying Dutchmen will advance to their seventh state quarterfinals under head Coach Steve Vlcek.

Manchester was the only local team advancing to the state team championships beginning Feb. 28, at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo. The eight teams in each division will be wrestling in the quarterfinals on Friday and the semifinals and finals on Saturday, Feb. 29.

Springport advanced to the Division 3 regional team final with a 40-27 win over Byron. Manchester easily defeated Dansville 72-6 in the other semifinal.

Division 2 at Chelsea: Mason High School defeated Western 39-22 in the Division 2 regional semifinals. The Bulldogs defeated Eaton Rapids 33-27 in the regional finals.

Division 3 at Monroe Jefferson: Napoleon High School lost to Dundee 77-3 and Onsted fell to the host schools 56-14. Dundee – the No. 1 ranked team in Division 3 – easily won the regional title to advance to the state team wrestling finals.

Division 4 at Hudson: Addison High School earned a 55-22 win over Union City in the Division 4 regional semifinals. The Panthers put up a fight in the finals against Hudson, but lost 45-24.
