John Wilson, candidate for Jackson mayor, brought his campaign to today’s Bart Hawley Show. Wilson said his focus as mayor would be improving the condition of the city’s streets and neighborhoods. Wilson would work toward resumption of leaf pickup and street cleaning should he be elected. The candidate is focusing his campaign on door to door visits of registered voters. Wilson also said the number one priority of the city should be the safety of the citizens. He would like to see more “boots on the street” from the Jackson Police Department and the Department of Public Works. Wilson faces four challengers in the August 4th primary. Incumbent mayor Jason Smith is not seeking re-election.
