(June 2, 2023 9:32 AM ET) The Jackson County Department of Transportation (JCDOT) today announced the construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of McCain and Dearing Road in Spring Arbor Township. The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 12, and is anticipated to be completed within 15 weeks.
In order to construct the roundabout, the intersection will be closed to traffic. A detour will be in place to guide motorists around the construction site.
The installation of the new roundabout aims to enhance both safety and traffic flow in the area. In a statement, JCDOT said they appreciate the public’s patience and understanding throughout the construction phase. The department said this project has been made possible by a safety grant awarded to JCDOT specifically intended to improve the safety of this intersection. This grant is exclusively allocated for safety improvement and not for general road maintenance.
If you have any questions, please contact the office at (517) 788-4230; visit the website (bit.ly/JCDOT), or Facebook page for further information.
