(April 24, 2020 6:15 PM) The Jackson County Department of Transportation (JCDOT) has announced that Phase 1 of the McDevitt Avenue Reconstruction Project will start on Monday, April 27, 2020.

McDevitt Avenue will be closed to traffic between Draper Road and US-127 for the duration of the project, with completion anticipated in August. The Oak Lane intersection will be closed for about two weeks in June. Local traffic access for residents will be maintained at all times during the project. Phase 2 of the project, from Draper Road to Francis Street, is expected to begin in early June with completion expected in November.

This project was made possible in large part by a Michigan Enhancement Grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The contractor for Phase 1 of this project is Dunigan Brothers Inc., headquartered in Jackson, Michigan. Dunigan Brothers was the lowest bidder at a cost of $1.55 million.
