(April 1, 2022 4:30 PM)  Michigan reported 1,661* coronavirus (COVID-19) positive test cases today, with the state reported total now at 2,080,612.

Michigan is reporting 33** COVID-19-related deaths today with the state total at 32,863.  

*Note on cases (04/01/2022): Today’s daily case count represents new referrals of confirmed cases to the MDSS since the last web update report.  Over the two days (Thursday and Friday), the average number of new confirmed cases is ~831 per day.

**The deaths announced today includes 27 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. See cumulative data page for more information.

Information is updated Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3 p.m., with COVID-19 results included as of 10 a.m.   

The MDHHS today announced that starting the week of April 4, 2022, data will be updated in the following way:

  • Case and death data will be updated once per week on Wednesdays.
  • Case and death data will be inclusive of both confirmed and probable cases and deaths.
  • The cumulative county COVID-19 case rate map wil be replaced with a map of the CDC COVID-19 community levels and will be refreshed on Fridays.
