(January 5, 2022 4:36 PM)  Michigan reported 27,346* coronavirus (COVID-19) positive test cases today, with the state reported total now at 1,595,919.

Michigan is reporting 277** COVID-19-related deaths today with the state total at 27,563.  

*Note on cases (01/05/2022): Today’s daily case count represents new referrals of confirmed cases to the MDSS since the last web update report.  Over the two days (Tuesday and Wednesday), the average number of new confirmed cases is 13,673 per day.
