(April 19, 2024 11:36 AM ET) The Napoleon High School Robotics Team, The Triple Triangularity, has received an invitation to compete in the VEX HS World Championship in Dallas, Texas, scheduled for April 24-27.

The team, 40684D, is comprised of students Cameron Smith, Mason Keith, and Griffin Keith.  The team finished 11th out of 80 teams in the Skills Challenge State Championships on February 23-24 at Kettering University in Flint.  Starting next Thursday, they’ll join 800 teams from around the world in Dallas at the High School VEX World Championship.  The VEX Robotics World Championship, presented by the Northrop Grumman Foundation and the REC Foundation, will be at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The annual event will bring together the top VEX IQ Robotics Competition, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U teams from around the globe to celebrate their accomplishments and participate in the 2023-2024 games to be crowned champions.

This marks the second consecutive year that Napoleon has had a team qualify for the World Championship.

According to Adam Draa, Math/Science/Technology Teacher and STEM Coach, their journey to this point has been marked by extraordinary dedication and success.  Draa told JTV that this season alone, they’ve amassed more awards than Napoleon Robotics has seen in its program history, including 2 Tournament Finalist Awards, a Tournament Champion Award, a Design Award, 2 Innovation Awards, and 2 Skills Champion Awards. “The achievements of these young men reflect their tireless commitment and skill. As their coach, I couldn’t be prouder, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing their skills on the global stage,” said Draa.

With a regular season record of 55-28-1, equating to a 65% winning percentage, Team 40684D further solidified their standing at the State Championship with a notable score of 307, elevating their global rank to 395 out of over 11,000 HS teams worldwide.
