SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men’s bowling program made history on Wednesday afternoon when it signed its first-ever recruit in Adam LaRoe from Jackson, Michigan.
LaRoe, a two-handed bowler, comes to Spring Arbor after a highly successful career at Napoleon High School which culminated in a Division 3 state singles championship. He anchored the Pirates that season with a 206 average and was rewarded with a Detroit Free Press Dream Team selection. In addition to receiving Dream Team honors, LaRoe was a two-time All-State and three-time All-Conference performer. He also has two 300 games to his credit.
“What a great opportunity it is to work with such a talented young man,” said head men’s bowling coach Mike Hall. “Two-handed bowling is on the rise and Adam is one of the best. He is constantly working to improve to improve his game, which makes him a great asset to the team.”
While attending SAU, LaRoe intends to major in accouting.
The 2016-17 academic year will be the inaugural season of competition for the Spring Arbor men’s and women’s bowling programs. The teams will practice and compete at Airport Lanes Bowling Center in Jackson, Michigan.
