(July 29, 2022 3:09 PM) The Michigan State Primary Election is taking place on August 2.  Citizens in Jackson County will be voting on a variety of state and local offices, along with township, school and authority proposals.

Every ten years, voting districts change according to census population shifts.  Redistricting created new U.S. House, State Senate and House, and County districts.  In Jackson County, everyone is in a new district for U.S. House, State Senate and State House.  County district boundaries have changed and some residents are in new districts.  Some residents also will be voting in a new polling location.

To find your polling location and the new districts, visit michigan.gov/sos or vote411.org.  At both sites, you can enter your address, see what’s on your ballot, check your voter registration, and find your polling place.

Here are the districts, candidates and proposals for Jackson County.
