The Jackson County Department of Transportation announces the re-opening of the Moon Lake Road Bridge. The new bridge over Dollar Lake Channel is a concrete arch bridge structure that allows passage of watercraft up to six feet tall at the center of the arch.

Construction of the bridge began in January of this year. Road improvements for the approaches along with aesthetic enhancements were included as part of the project. In the coming weeks, the concrete stonework will be stained with a natural stone-colored pattern.

The cost of the project was approximately $1.2 million and the general contractor was E.T. Mackenzie. This project was made possible in large part by a grant from the Local Bridge Program as administered by the Michigan Department of Transportation, in combination with matching funds from JCDOT as approved by the County Board of Commissioners in 2018.
