The Jackson Area Transportation Authority (JATA) will once again be offering free rides home for people who may have had too much to drink while celebrating the coming New Year. The “Reserve-A-Ride” buses will be available between the hours of 11pm and 4am. This service is being offered to encourage prudent decision making by those who choose to drink.
This year’s sponsors are Budweiser/Daniel Jacob Co., JATA, the Jackson Count Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition and JTV.
JATA offers the following tips to anyone who plans to use the shuttle:
- Call 788-8410 for reservations (starting at 11pm December 31 through 4am January 1)
- It is recommended (but not required) that customers call at least 45 minutes in advance for a reservation
- Do not call for the shuttle to take you to another bar or party
- Only call the shuttle for a ride home
This is the 33rd consecutive year the Jackson Area Transportation Authority has offered this free service to the community with the help of their sponsors.
