SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women’s soccer team claimed the overall No. 1 seed and is set to host Rochester College in the opening round of the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2:30 p.m.
The Cougars are making their eighth appearance all-time, and seventh in a row, in the opening round after claiming their seventh straight Crossroads League Tournament championship. Rochester will be one of four teams in the 32-team field making its first ever tournament appearance, qualifying by winning the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Tournament title.
The 15 winners of the National Championship Opening Round matches – as well as tournament host University of Mobile (Ala.) – will advance to the national championship final site at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama.
The 16-team, single-elimination tournament will take place on Nov. 28 – Dec.3, with the championship match set for Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.
