NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central College shot 52 percent from the field to pull away for a 77-63 victory over Albion College in non-league men’s basketball action.
North Central made eight of its first nine shots as it sprinted out to an 18-7 lead and it never let Albion make a run.
Travell Oakes knocked down a pair of free throws and Corey Wheeler tacked on a three-point shot to pull Albion within 46-42 with 14:23 left, but that was as close as the Britons would get.
Alex Sorenson and Jagger Anderson combined to score 43 points for North Central on 19-of-27 shooting from the field. Connor Rairdon chipped in with 16 points.
Jordan Herron led Albion with 15 points, while Oakes fell a rebound shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Jaylen Fordham and Robert Ryan added nine points apiece.
Albion, 4-4 overall, returns home for a 3 o’clock Saturday game against the University of Chicago.
