(September 25, 2023 4:08 PM ET) The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the northbound US-127 ramp to westbound I-94 for a traffic shift.
This work is part of MDOT’s ongoing $120 million investment to rebuild and widen I-94 near the Airport Road interchange to just west of the east US-127/I-94 interchange in Blackman and Leoni Township. The I-94 project involves upgrading the US-127/M-50 (West Avenue)/I-94 interchange to a diverging diamond interchange, the Elm Road interchange with roundabouts, and the Lansing Avenue bridge over I-94.
The closure is in effect from 6 AM to 3 PM on Tuesday, September 26.
Traffic will be detoured via Michigan Avenue and M-50 (West Avenue).
Also, Westbound I-94 will have a single-lane closure from US-127 to M-106 (Cooper Street). The Elm Road entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed intermittently during the same hours on Tuesday (6 AM to 3 PM).
On Tuesday, September 26, Eastbound I-94 will have a single-lane closure from Airport Road to Sargent Road from 7 AM to 5 PM.
