(8-7-2025, 10:00AM): – After finishing 3-6 in the 2024 campaign, the Northwest Mounties said “This isn’t a step back or rebuild, we’ve just been continuing to build”. NW has their minds set on making the playoffs and getting better everyday for 2025.
HC Stafford Newsome is returning for his 4th year with the Mounties. Newsome has been the key piece to improving this program, finishing just under .500 in his first two seasons after the Mounties had won just three games in three seasons prior. Program numbers have dramatically increased in these three years, and will be approximately up to 80 players within the entire program.
Key returning players include seniors Gabe Christner (QB), Avery Anspaugh (RB/LB), Jeffrey Miller (RB/DB), Spencer Huston (TE), Luke Andrewes (OL), and Aiden Williams (OL/DL).
Newcomers expected to make an impact include freshman Roe DeDaeux, who is already the fastest player on the team according to the players.
Defensive coordinator Jake Greer returns for his fourth season as well for NWHS. “Great dude, the players love him and he cares about us as a person” said the team.
Goals for the 2025 season include making the playoffs for the first time in school history and to “get better everyday”.
Northwest returns six starters on offense and eight on defense.
