(August 19, 2023 6:48 PM ET) A familiar name won another local tournament at Sharp Park Golf Course Saturday.

But not the one normally associated with golfing victories.

Chad Risner won the Stableford Tournament Saturday with a final score of plus 20. Players earned five points for eagles, two for birdies, zero points for pars, minus 1 point for bogeys, and minus three points for double bogeys.

Chad – the father of collegiate golfer Cannon Risner and 2022 Jackson Area Golfer of the Year – got hot in the last 18 holes to take the title. After shooting plus 6 on the first 18, Risner finished plus 14 on the last 18 in the 36-hole tournament.

Risner finished with an actual score of 65 on the second 18 including four birdies on the front side and an eagle on hole No. 14.

Nick Reynolds finished second (13), Greg Zeller and Todd Marston tied for third (12), and Brian Coon and Zach DeFrain tied for fifth (11).

Tom Midena won the first flight at minus 3 and Colin O’Connell was second scoring minus 4.
