
64th District State House Representative Earl Poleski explained the legislation the House and Senate passed on their final day of the 2014 session that will address Michigan’s road funding issues. A ballot proposal slated for May, 2015 will ask Michigan voters to increase the state sales tax from 6% to 7%. If passed, inequities in fuel taxes will be changed resulting in a net gain of more than $1.2 billion dedicated to road repair.
