One of the top girls’ golf team in the state flexed its muscles Friday at the Jackson Golf Invitational.

Rochester Adams High School shot a 320 – an average of 80 for 18 holes per golfer – to win the invitational at Cascades Golf Course by 50 strokes. The Highlanders finished seventh in the state a year ago at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 state finals. 

Michigan Center finished second at 370, Lumen Christi shot 402 for third place, Western and Hanover-Horton tied for fifth at 408, Jackson High shot 418 for sixth place, East Jackson placed seventh with a team score of 425, Onsted finished eighth at 428, Saline was ninth scoring 445, Grass Lake tallied 10th place with 447, Napoleon was 11th at 480, and Northwest finished 12th.

Rochester player Laura Liu earned medalist honors with a 4-over-par 76.

Michigan Center golfer Kamryn Shannon placed fourth overall with an 83. Sydnie Redovich placed sixth with an 86, Jamie Metzger of Onsted was eighth scoring an 89, Caitee Webster of Lumen Christi and Baylee Carlisle of Michigan Center tied for ninth shooting 91s.

Natalie Kulka of Jackson High was 11th overall with a 92.

Hanover-Horton was led by Sydney Finch with a 96, Paige Hubert of Grass Lake shot a 98, Rory Mericle of East Jackson finished with a 98, Kara Clingerman led Northwest shooting a 99, and Quincy Stewart shot a 110 to lead Napoleon.
