(March 24, 2023 11:20 AM ET) The Jackson County Fair announced today that country music star Russell Dickerson with special guest Jameson Rodgers will perform on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Jackson County Fair.

About Russell Dickerson:

A dynamic frontman who lifts crowds up on his own wild-eyed energy, with a near superhuman ability to translate fluttering hearts into musical notation, Russell Dickerson is a powerhouse showman and superstar on the rise.

After graduating from Nashville’s Belmont University, Dickerson hit the road. Wielding an independent spirit and a rich vocal – plus a drive to succeed and an SUV – he’d pack up and head out with his self-written songs. “I told myself ‘I’m just gonna keep going,’” Dickerson explains. “I’m gonna keep driving my run-down SUV all across America playing for 25 people and 250 bucks a night until something happens.” Something did happen, of course, but not the way he expected. Dropping the idea he could figure out what fans wanted, Dickerson instead embraced what he liked, and 2015’s “Yours” was the result.

Dropping two albums – Yours and Southern Symphony – streaming numbers soon hit 2.2 billion and led to tours with Thomas Rhett, Lady A and Kane Brown, swiftly securing his reputation as one of country’s hottest new talents and most prolific songwriters.

Spurred on by pandemic isolation, Dickerson spent the majority of 2020-2021 putting pen to paper, drawn over and over to those three simple topics – love, family, and friendship. Co-producing his self-titled album, Dickerson captured that “100-percent me” element by freely fusing different genres and different eras into country textures just as vibrant as his big personality – and they certainly stand out, even in today’s format. Now three albums in, it’s proof positive that “RD” has found his mark, and hearts-on-fire authenticity is the name of his game.

About Jameson Rodgers:

The hard-touring upstart has spent nearly a decade honing his rowdy live show, whether he’s headlining his own electric sets or opening for the likes of Luke Combs, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan and many more. A MusicRow Discovery Artist of the Year winner and iHeartRadio Music Awards nominee, Rodgers immortalized his live show on his latest project Live from Oxford, MS, recorded at a sold-out show at The Oxford Theatre. Featuring early career standouts like “Midnight Daydream” plus his back-to-back, Platinum-certified No. 1 hits “Some Girls” and follow-up smash “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” (originally featuring label mate Combs), the collection captures the raucous atmosphere that has become Rodgers’ calling card. Named to breakthrough artist programs including CMA KixStart and Opry NextStage, Rodgers released his debut album Bet You’re From A Small Town in 2021, and recently offered his first taste of new music with the reflective “Things That Matter.” Also an in-demand songwriter, the country traditionalist has co-penned multi-Platinum hits for Florida Georgia Line (Top 10 single “Talk You Out of It”) and Chris Lane (No. 1 smash, “I Don’t Know About You”), plus deep cuts for Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, and more.
