Dr. Lynda Yang , Neurosurgeon at University of Michigan Hospitals and Medical School came to JTV today to announce a new research partnership with Spring Arbor University and the Brachial Plexus Program at the University of Michigan Health System.  Next month, a research program on brachial plaxus palsies will be established on the campus of Spring Arbor University as the first ever medical research institution in Jackson County.  Dr. Yang is one of the nation’s leading surgeons and researchers on brachial plexus and will begin establishing the program at SAU.  David Hockenbrocht is spearheading the funding of the program and SAU Provost  Dr. Kimberly Rupert and Faculty Liason Dr. Craig Hayward shared details of Spring Arbor’s participation. Read the complete press release here.  Other guests include:  State Representative Earl Poleski;  Allegiance Health Director of Prevention and Community Health Dr. Amy Schultz, Project Access Coordinator Kristin Pluta and Lay Health Leader Deb Hildenbrand on a new health initiative;  Heather Price from Sandhill Crane Vineyards;  DaVinci Institute teacher Mary Wood with students Lily Powlison and Katie Brandenberg on their bowl-a-thon fundraiser for a student recovering from serious injury.  The event is April 16th at Airport Lanes and donations can be made at any CP Federal Credit Union branch.
