The Spring Arbor University women’s track & field team added a standout student athlete to their roster when the Lady Cougars landed Briana Devine of Alma, Michigan. Devine, a four year varsity letter winner in Cross Country and Track & field for Alma High School, earned All-Conference awards in both sports along with Competitive Cheer.
Last year in Devine was named Female Athlete of the year along with the recipient of the Dave Peters’ Coaches Award. Devine is a five time winner of the Alma High School Sportsmanship Award and Four Year team captain in Cross Country and two year team captain in track.
Devine was a highly active student-athlete with involvement with her church, Student Council, Youth for Christ Student Leadership team, Youth Advisory Council, Church of God student leadership program, and other activities as well as missions trips to Honduras, and working the nursery and Children’s Church at Trinity Church.
Even with her hectic schedule, Devine excelled academically earning a spot on honor roll.
“Briana not only fit what we value as an athlete, but she embodies what we view as significant as a person,” said Head Coach Mark Miller. “Briana will make us better as a team on and off the track, in the classroom and on campus. She is a great fit for Spring Arbor University.”
A mid-distance specialist, Devine excels in the 800m run.
Devine is the daughter of Dale and Audra Devine.
