Semis All Set in City Golf Championship at CC of J

(June 6, 2024 9:48 PM ET) Semifinal matches are set for the Jackson City Golf Championship at the Country Club of Jackson on Friday.

Brian Coon defeated Zach DeFrain 4 & 2 in a battle of the last two City champions. Coon won four holes on the back nine to pull away from DeFrain.

Greg Zeller defeated Brad McEldowney 1-up in 19 holes. McEldowney won the last two holes to draw even, but Zeller won the extra hole.

Zeller faces Coon in the semifinal Friday.

Nick Reynolds defeated Doug Bevan 2-up in another of the quarterfinal matches. Only one hole was halved in a crazy front nine. Reynolds won 18 with a birdie to close out the match.

In the final quarterfinal, Rob Longbrake defeated Riley Hestwood 5 & 3 to gain a semifinal appearance. Longbrake won six holes on the front nine en route to a 34.

Longbrake – a finalist in the City Championship last year – faces Reynolds in the other semifinal.

The 36-hole final is scheduled for Saturday between the semifinal winners.
