(April 21, 2020 8:58 PM) The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the northbound US-127 ramp to eastbound I-94 and the eastbound I-94 off ramp to Sargent Road to perform pavement and ramp repairs starting today. MDOT will also close eastbound I-94 at the westbound M-60 ramp on Thursday. This work is part of the ongoing I-94 Corridor Project.
This work will feature phases of ramp closures. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
First, the northbound US-127 ramp to eastbound I-94 will be closed and detoured from 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, until 6 a.m. Thursday, April 30. Traffic heading for eastbound I-94 will exit at I-94 Business Loop (BL) (Michigan Avenue) and head east on Michigan Avenue to enter eastbound I-94 from Sargent Road.
Then, the eastbound I-94 ramp to Sargent Road will be closed and detoured from 6 a.m. Friday, April 24, until 6 a.m. Thursday, April 30. Traffic heading for Sargent Road will exit eastbound I-94 at southbound US-127, then exit at I-94 BL (Michigan Avenue) and head east on Michigan Avenue back to Sargent Road.
MDOT will close eastbound I-94 at the westbound M-60 ramp beginning Thursday night for M-60 bridge demolition. These nighttime closures will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Additionally, on Friday night, westbound I-94 will be reduced to one lane and the eastbound M-60 ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed and detoured.
Eastbound I-94 traffic will be detoured to westbound M-60 to the Michigan Avenue exit and then back to eastbound M-60 to eastbound I-94.
M-60 traffic heading for westbound I-94 will be detoured to eastbound M-60 to eastbound I-94, then the Airport Road exit and back to westbound I-94.
