(March 3, 2022 3:14 PM) Six Jackson County bowling teams will be looking for state championships at the Michigan High School Athletic Association state bowling team finals on Friday.

Northwest and Grass Lake boys’ teams were regional champions a week ago.

Grass Lake girls were also on the top of the podium at a regional meet last Friday.

Napoleon and Vandercook Lake boys’ teams were also team qualifiers as was Lumen Christi girls.

Each team will bowl eight Baker games and two individual games (by five bowlers) in the state final qualifying. 

The top eight teams advance to the stepladder portion of the tournament. 

Bowling starts at 8:25 a.m. on Friday at Super Bowl in Canton for Division 2, JAX 60 Recreation Center in Jackson for Division 3, and M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek. 

Boys teams

Division 2 – Northwest High School, regional champs

Division 3 – Napoleon High School, third place at regionals

Division 4 – Grass Lake High School, regional champs

Vandercook Lake High School, third place at regionals

Girls teams

Division 4 – Grass Lake High School, regional champs

Lumen Christi Catholic High School, third place at regionals

Downtown Power Outage

Due to the downtown power outage, JTV will return to live programming on Wednesday, April 17.
