Homecoming Weekend is being celebrated this Friday and Saturday at Spring Arbor University.  The University is inviting all students, parents of students, alumni and community partners to Homecoming 2019, Friday-Saturday, Sept. 27-28. Although most of the weekend’s activities are free of charge, registration is required for some events.

The festivities begin with Homecoming Chapel on Friday morning, featuring former SAU Chaplain Ron Kopicko ’77 as speaker and an alumni/student Chapel band. On Friday evening, SAU is celebrating this year’s award recipients at the Alumni Awards Banquet at Commonwealth Commerce Center in Jackson.  (Reservations are now closed for the award dinner).   The evening will culminate with introductions of the men’s and women’s basketball teams at the “Cougar Madness” event in SAU’s McDonald Athletic Center.

Saturday’s events will include:

  • 5K, 2-Mile Walk and Kids’ Fun Run
  • Kids’ Carnival (including inflatables, face paint, caricatures, balloon animals and laser tag)
  • Food trucks
  • Music department showcase
  • Craft & Vendor Fair
  • Ganton Art Gallery exhibit: Brianne Witt’s MFA Thesis Exhibition
  • Networking Fair hosted by the Gainey School of Business
  • “Meeting in Newburgh” theatrical production, featuring Paul Patton ’74
  • “Memory, Place and Mom Jeans” English department panel discussion
  • Ron Kopicko ’77 Celebration
  • Cross Cultural Reunion
  • Varsity and alumni athletic events
  • Softball Field Renovation and Beebe Plaza Dedications
  • And  much more
