(May 29, 2020 10:51 AM) The Planning Committee for the Spring Tea at Baker College has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Spring Tea. Originally scheduled for May 16th, the event had been postponed to a yet-to-be determined date, but now is canceled for this year.

Each year, the Spring Tea raises funds for a Jackson non profit organization.  This year’s chosen recipient of the fundraiser, Jackson Personal Care Ministry, will remain the non profit recipient for the 2021Tea to be held next spring.

Jackson Personal Care Ministry provides personal care items like toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap and other personal care items to community members in need.  The non profit has been assisted by the Jackson Covid-19 Action Network (JCAN), during the coronavirus period.  The Spring Tea typically raises around $10,000 annually for a different local non profit each year.

Spring Tea at Baker College Chairperson Karen Hawley said, “Even though so many events are being put on hold due to the pandemic, we are hopeful that next spring we will all be safer and healthier and can look forward to resuming our normal activities.  JPCM is so grateful for the generosity of all those who support the Spring Tea at Baker College and their  ministry.”
