St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea is again providing scholarships for students interested in pursuing a career in health care.  In 2016, the hospital will award five merit-based scholarships to local students in the amount of $1,000 each.

To quality, this year’s applicants must be enrolled fulltime in a health care program for which certification is given or a degree is granted.  Applicants must live in Chelsea, Manchester, Dexter, Pinckney, Grass Lake, Stockbridge or Gregory.  Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement, community involvement and a sincere interest in health care.

Applications may be picked up at the information desk inside St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or can be mailed upon request.  Applications will be accepted until May 6, 2016.

The scholarships being awarded are funded by the St. Joe’s Auxiliary, a volunteer department within the hospital.  For more information or to request a scholarship application, please call 734-593-5793.  All applications should be sent to the attention of Lois Gibson, Auxiliary counselor, 775 S Main St, Chelsea, Mich. 48118.
