(September 5, 2022 8:50 AM) Jackson native Brian Stuard earned playing privileges on the PGA Tour for the 2022-2023 season.
Stuard finished 24th in the Korn Ferry Tour Final 25 – a three tournament playoff format for players who missed the top 25 on the Korn Ferry Tour (26-75) and players who finished in the Nos. 126-200 on the PGA Tour this season.
Stuard finished 128th on the PGA Tour in 2021-2022 – just three places out of the top 125 and automatic exemptions into PGA Tour events.
The 39-year-old native of Jackson has maintained PGA TOUR membership every season since graduating from the Korn Ferry Tour in 2012, making seven FedExCup Playoffs appearances, including a streak of four in a row from 2018 – 2021.
A frequent RV traveler and a past champion of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Stuard earned a place in The Finals 25 via top-30 finishes in the first two Korn Ferry Tour Finals events.
He missed the cut in the final tournament this week but made the top 25.
Stuard could have made a number of PGA Tour starts in 2022-2023 based on his 128th-place finish, but opted to play in the three-tournament Final 25 to move up in PGA Tour Priority Ranking.
