Talbert (2)SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University’s Connor Talbert (Jackson, MI/Lumen Christi HS) has been officially announced as an individual qualifier for the 2014 NCCAA Men’s Golf National Championship.

Talbert’s medalist performance at the NCCAA Mid-West Regional on Sept. 15-16 automatically qualified him for the national championship. The Jackson, Mich. native, in just his third outing with the Cougars, fired a final round 69 to capture the first championship of his collegiate career. He shot a two-round total of 142 (73-69), which tied for the third-best 36-hole score in school history.

The 2014 NCCAA Men’s Golf National Championship will be held at The Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Florida on Oct. 27-29. A PGA Qualifying School site, The Hombre challenges players to truly manage their way around a course featuring small greens and narrow fairways paired with the always-present ocean wind.

Teams will begin their week at the Tee-Off Banquet where each team will serve as host to residents from the Panama City Rescue Mission/Bethel Women’s Shelter. Residents will enjoy dinner with the participants and then be presented with gift bags from their host teams. (Photo Credit SAU)
