Tarpley Leads in Jackson County Senior Golf Open

(July 10, 2021 10:17 PM) John Tarpley will take a one-shot lead into play tomorrow at the Jackson County Senior Golf Open at Cascades Golf Course.

Tarpley shot an even-par 72 at Cascades on Saturday in the opening round of the championship flight.

Mark Kurzynowski, Greg Zeller, and Robert Varner are one shot behind Tarpley in the championship flight scoring 73s.

Rusty Whisman and Todd Marston shot 74s and Bob Luca finished with a round of 75.

Nathan LaZebnik shot the best round of the day with a one-under-par 71 in the first flight (ages 60-69). He will take a one-shot lead into round two over Mike Rich who shot 72 and four shots over Harold West who carded a 75 on Saturday. 

Roger Kuhl leads the second flight (70-plus) with an even-par 72. Wayne Harbaugh trails Kuhl by four strokes heading into the second round on Sunday following a 76.
