(March 3, 2022 3:29 PM) A total of 37 Jackson County wrestlers will be looking to gain Michigan High School Athletic Association medals this weekend at Ford Field in Detroit.
That includes six female wrestlers who will be competing in the first MHSAA sponsored girls state final event.
Each of the wrestlers will be in 16-person brackets based on his/her weight. The top eight earn all-state medals and will be atop the podium on Saturday afternoon.
In order to gain a podium spot, wrestlers must win two matches before losing two bouts. Going 4-0 during the two-day tournament will result in a state title.
Here are the wrestlers, school name, and weight classes in each division.
Wrestling starts at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
