Construction season is slated to begin as early as next week in the City of Jackson.  The city has released a list of planned projects, along with an interactive map for projects scheduled for this spring and summer.

Work includes milling and resurfacing Morrell Street between West Avenue and Brown Street, the reconstruction of Kibby Road, and the installation of lighting at Loomis Park, Exchange Park and the MLK Equality Trail.

The city will have two new round-abouts:  At the intersection of Denton and Kibby (near Cascades Manor), and at the intersection of Fourth and Hickory (at the entrance to Ella Sharp Park).  The round-about on Fourth at Parkside will be completely rebuilt.  The city is exploring the installation of artwork or sculptures at the roundabouts’ centers.  Fourth Street will be milled and resurfaced between Audubon and Horton, along with the realignment of the Fourth and Horton intersection.

On the accompanying map, orange is street construction, yellow is lighting work, black is parking lot paving and green is sewer replacement and repair.
