Two Napoleon Football Players Earn King, Queen at Homecoming

(October 1, 2023 8:45 PM ET) It is not unusual for a high school football player to be on the homecoming court and win the homecoming king crown.

Football players on undefeated teams are stars in their school during the fall season.

Imagine the surprise when two football players were named as homecoming king and queen at Napoleon High School on Friday. 

Female kicker Maggie Van Wagnen was named as the homecoming queen at halftime festivities of the Napoleon/Leslie football game Friday. The football player expects to play college soccer next year.

Christian Nykamp completed the football royalty sweep by being named as the NHS king. He is a starting safety and wide receiver for the Pirates.
