The 4th Annual “What Floats Your Cardboard Boat” Race has been scheduled for September 11, 2015 at the Urban Fisheries Pond at Cascades Falls.  This is the kickoff for the annual campaign. The primary purpose of United Way of Jackson County’s “What Floats Your Cardboard Boat?” Race is to have some BIG FUN while kicking off fall fundraising efforts to better our community. Human powered boats made entirely of cardboard will race around the new Urban Fisheries Pond at Cascades Park and compete for trophies in individual heats. It is all happening on Friday, September 11th starting at 4:00 p.m.  In the event of lightning the race will be held Saturday, Sept 12th. Guests Beth Shafer from the United Way and Dave Turk from the Walton Insurance Group on The Bart Hawley Show rolled out a new aspect to the boat race, a theme. All boats must be based off a storybook.  They are hoping this will encourage creativity and introduces a new way to earn an award. BOAT REGISTRATION: Fleet will consist of the first 20 paid registrations. : Entry Fee: $200 ….see registration form for further details : Registration Closes: when the fleet is full or Friday, Aug. 14th.  Download the 2015 Registration Form
