Tuesday August 19th
(8-19-25, 12:00PM): Following a 2-7 season, Vandercook Lake looks to end the playoff drought with an experienced group in 2025, returning 9 starters from each side of the ball.
Dan Midena is returning for his 2nd year with the Jayhawks as the head man. He and his team are “tired of losing,” so they are striving towards adding onto their win total this season.
Key returning Jayhawks include 1st team All Conference, LB Justin Barnes (QB/LB), 1st team All Conference WR, Leland Barton (RB/WR/CB), Deshawn Roper (RB/LB), Eadon Briston (G/DT) and Jacob Shepard (WR). A newcomer expected to make an impact is Micah Crenshaw (RB/LB).
Offensive coordinator duties will be handled by Midena. He aims to use his players to the best of his abilities. The Jayhawk offense has RB depth this season, so Midena will use 2 RB formations often.
Defensive coordinator responsibilities will be shared by 1st year coordinators Caleb Beard and Mitch Osborne. They will lead a fast defense with a strong linebacking core.
Goals for the Jayhawks include pursuing an end to the 11 year playoff drought and to win more games.
