(October 5, 2022 6:00 AM) Vandercook Lake Public Schools will enter into contract negotiations with Tracey Lowder in hopes he will become the district’s new superintendent.
The Vandercook Lake School Board voted 7-0 to enter into negotiations with Lowder following a second round of superintendent interviews on Tuesday.
The district originally interviewed four candidates last week and brought back three candidates – Lowder, currently VCL Principal Melissa Bradfield, and VCL graduate and Eaton Rapids administrator Brent Watkins – for second-round interviews on Tuesday.
Scott Leach left the district in July to take the superintendent position at Dundee Community Schools.
Lowder, who lives in the district, is currently a principal at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School after a number of years as an administrator at Jackson Public Schools.
The board expects to discuss the contract at its board meeting on Oct. 10.
