Walz Leads Senior City Golf Championship

(July 24, 2021 2:08 PM) Longtime golfer Pete Walz will take a two-stroke lead into the second round of the Joe Fiero Senior City Championship at Sharp Park Golf Course on Sunday.

Walz shot a 4-under-par 67 on Saturday to earn the lead – with his score matching his age. 

Steve Maddalena and Greg Zeller shot 2-under-par 69s on Saturday and Bob Varner shot a 70.

Paul Varner and Mike Raymond are tied for fifth place at 72 and Tim Pickering and Jim Coutu are tied for seventh with 73s on Saturday.

Bill Scheele leads the 60-plus flight with a 74 on Saturday. He holds a three-stroke lead over Jerry Fitzpatrick.

Golfers will tee off at Sharp Park beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday. The lead group is expected to tee off at 9:10 a.m.
