Springport 43 (2-0), Reading 18: QB Gibson Overweg scored 4 touchdowns to lead the Spartans, including three rushing. Kaden Woyame finished with 70 rushing yards and Dallas Higelmire scored a receiving TD. SHS is now 2-0 to start the year.
Leslie 34 (2-0), Addison 8 (0-2): QB Joel Cranmore continues to play excellent to help lead the Blackhawks. Cranmore finished 13/21 for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns plus 2 rushing. Braydin Johnson scored 2 touchdowns as Leslie improved to 2-0.
Hanover Horton 28 (1-1), Napoleon 8 (1-1): Austyn Hocter scored 2 touchdowns and ran for 127 yards to lead the Comets on the road. AJ Fielder and JJ Russ each added a rushing TD as HH improved to 1-1.
Jonesville 38 (2-0), Grass Lake 34 (0-2): The Comets survived on Friday, stopping a Grass Lake hail mary in the final seconds. John Milks was quite the workhorse for the Comets, carrying the ball 40 times for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ian Doyle had 2 catches for 86 yards and 2 TDs, and QB Carson Young was 5/8 with 125 yards and threw for 2 TDs for JHS.
Michigan Center 49 (2-0), Columbia Central 14 (0-2): QB Hadyn Hinkle finished 12/22 with 260 yards and 2 touchdowns along with a rushing TD to lead the Cardinals. Braylon Brown also scored a rushing and receiving TD. MC has now scored 91 points through the first two weeks. Bauston Pilaczynski ran for 107 yards and a touchdown for Columbia Central.
Lumen Christi 54 (1-1), Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 34: The defending D6 champ defeated the D5 champ at home on Friday. Running back Paul Sattler dominated on the ground for the Titans, rushing for 294 yards and 6 touchdowns on just 24 carries. LCCHS faces a D5 semifinalist from last year, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, in another major showdown at home next Friday. The game will be live on JTV and online at JTV.TV.
Concord 78 (2-0), Athens 0: QB Gavin Riske passes just five times, throwing for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Yellowjackets. Six other players scored a touchdown as Concord dominates to improve to 2-0.
Adrian 24, Northwest 21 (1-1): Adrian scored a touchdown with under a minute left to defeat the Mounties late.
