WEEK 3 HS FOOTBALL

Napoleon 32, Jonesville 12: The Pirates spoiled the Comets’ home opener on their new field on Friday, jumping out to the lead early behind another dominating offensive line performance. Jayden Servis scored two touchdowns for Napoleon, and Zavier Skog added a TD with nearly 150 yards. Gage Breining and Marcello Flores each added touchdowns, Napoleon is now 3-0 to start the season.

 

Lumen Christi 45, Traverse City St. Francis 0: The Titans led 39-0 at halftime to win a blowout non-conference game at home on Friday. Sophomore Ayden Gatewood was our JTV Tri-County Water ‘Player of the Game’, scoring all three of his touchdowns in the first half to help lead the rushing attack. LC has now defeated the Gladiators for the fifth straight meeting, dating back to the Division 6 state final in 2022. Jake Contat also helped lead the Titans rushing attack, as he got into the end zone for his own score. Lumen Christi is now 3-0 and faces Division 5 Ann Arbor FGR in a Catholic League matchup. Columbia Central 48, Grass Lake 28: The Golden Eagles avenge another one of their losses from last season, dominating at home on Friday to open the season 3-0. Julian Boardman led the offense with 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns for CC. Bauston Pilaczynski and Cyler Neelis each added a touchdown, and both had a sack on defense. QB Sammy Truax finished 11 of 17 passing for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Leslie 48, Vandercook Lake 8: After a heartbreaking triple overtime loss last week, the Blackhawks bounced back in a blowout conference win. QB Joel Cranmore passed for 145 yards and three touchdowns for Leslie. Patrick Friese rushed for four touchdowns, and Braydin Johnson tallied three receiving TDs. Leslie is now 2-1 overall.
