(August 21, 2020 8:06 PM) The Western High School girls’ golf team used some local knowledge to win their own invitational on Friday.

The Panthers used a solid back nine to win the Western Golf Invitational at Arbor Hills Golf Course.

Western finished with a four-man team score of 380 for 18 holes to defeated East Jackson by nine strokes.

The Panthers were 19 strokes better than the Trojans on the back nine on Friday.

Western was led by Syd Redovich with a 78. She shot a 2-over-par 38 on the back nine earning medalist honors. Ayaka Matzen scored a 97, Amber Ladd shot 101, and Sadie Dietsch finished with a 104.

East Jackson improved 33 strokes from the Hanover-Horton Invitational on Wednesday at Cascades Golf Course. Addy Rudd finished with a 93, Brynn Mericle shot a 97, Rory Mericle carded a 98, and Sammy Doerr finished with a 101.

Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished third with a team score of 392. The Titans were led by Abby Hilderley with an 86, Caitee Webster shot 91, Michaela Hauer finished at 105, and Morgan Manchester and Anna McClure shot 110s.

Coldwater shot 402 as a team with Taylor Musselman shooting an 83, finishing second individually.
