The National Weather Service has issued a  WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM Saturday  7 AM Sunday.

Snow is expected by late Friday evening. The snow will be heaviest early Saturday morning, which may transition to a wintry mix by mid morning Saturday before it once again changes back to snow by mid afternoon. The precipitation may be intermittent Saturday, during the mid to late morning, while it is warm enough to be a mix of rain and snow. When the cold air comes during during the mid to late afternoon the snow will likely be steady and it will become very windy. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

The advisory includes Jackson County and portions of south central and southwest Michigan.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Some power outages will be possible due to the winds combining with the weight of the wet snow on tree limbs and power lines.
