The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM Wednesday.

An area of snow will move into the Advisory area and expand this evening. Then occasional snow is forecasted into Wednesday afternoon. Some of the snow could be briefly heavy. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are forecasted.

The Advisory area includes Jackson County and portions of southern lower Michigan.

Impacts include slippery road conditions.  The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commute.

Snow will develop this evening and continue into tonight. Some accumulation of snow is expected by Wednesday morning, especially towards I-94.

Additional snow, which will occasionally be moderate to heavy, will occur on Wednesday. The heaviest snow will occur towards I-94. Totals by Thursday morning may reach the 3 to 6 inch range from Kalamazoo to Jackson.

Lake effect snow will occur from Thursday into Friday. Additional accumulations are possible towards the lakeshore.
