Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand reports the construction project of the new 911 dispatch center is nearing completion.  The center will move from basement offices downtown at the Sheriff Department to the county's Human Services building on Lansing Avenue.  The current location has been plagued with flooding and other issues.  Other guests:  Mark Smith, Jackson Community Food Pantry;  Diana Hill, Jackson District Library Spring Arbor Branch Librarian;  BIll Waterman, Capital City Brass Band Music Director and Conductor;  Coffee Talk with Nathan Brue, Jackson Coffee Company;  Ric Walton, Walton Insurance Group.

The Rev. James Shaver has announced his retirement as pastor of St. John's Catholic Parish this June.  Fr. The 2014 Homebuilders Association of Jackson annual Home and Lifestyle Expo is this weekend at the American 1 Events Center at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.  Exhibitors, including Rob Alldaffer and Lindsay Alldaffer of Jasco, will offer ideas for home improvement beginning Friday afternoon at 3pm.  The show runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday and admission is $5.  A discount admission coupon is available here.  Other guests:  Michigan Theatre Executive Director Steve Tucker;  Kenny Price, Grand River Environmental Action Team Chairman;  Monica Moser, Jackson Community Foundation President and CEO;  Northwest High School students Brian Lewis, Nicole Bergeron and Kristen Fink with "Once Upon A Mattress" this weekend at Potter Center;  Pet of the Week with Sue Lovell, Cascades Humane Society.

The Jackson Area Career Center Cosmetology students will be competing in their annual Hair and Fashion Show, this Thursday, March 21 at 6:30pm.  Contestants includes seniors Yliyah Hephzibah, Amber Morris and Brittney Southwell.  The show will be held at the Michigan Theatre.
