New Medical Device Startup in Jackson

Local dentist Dr. Fred Slete announced the launch of a new startup in Jackson that is manufacturing and marketing a new medical device.  Versah is a new procedure and device for dental implants that will be manufactured in Jackson designed to improve procedure and recovery times.  The company was founded by Dr. Salah Huwais, the product's inventor.  Other guests:  Consumers Energy Vice President Patti Poppe;  author Jim Holmgren;  Michigan State Police Sargeant Kevin Caldwell;  artist Ed Thayer (Steampunk Eddie);  Ric Walton, The Walton Insurance Group. Civil War Muster Celebrates 30 Years

The Cascades Civil War Muster enters its 30th year this weekend and organizer Kim Conant laid out the battle plans and weekend schedule on today's show.  The event is free and begins at 10am Saturday at Cascades.  Other guests:  Geoff Bontrager, Superintendent, Northwest Community Schools;  Dana Ashlock, Grant and Scholarship Coordinator, Jackson Community Foundation with Rev. Concord Welcomes Return of Superintendent

Royalty Visits JTV

Lumen Christi Welcomes JCMS to Campus

An ice cream social and book sale will be held tonight at Lumen Christi High School to welcome the seventh and eighth graders of Jackson Catholic Middle School who will be located on the Lumen Christi campus starting this fall.  Principal Chris Smith and Jackson Area Schools Coordinator Elaine Crosby outlined the changes throughout the Catholic school system for the upcoming school year.  Other guests:  Nancy Graebner, President and CEO, St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea;  Nicole Gilbert, Jackson District Library Napoleon Branch Manager;  Local author Patricia Robertson;  Lyah Van Sickle, Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.

Final Weekend for Shakespeare

The 20th Anniversary Season of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival concludes this weekend with performance of all three shows:  "The Importance of Being Earnest" Friday at 7:30pm, "Cymbeline" Saturday at 2:00pm and "Hamlet" Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2:00pm.  Artistic Director Jan Blixt reports the reviews and reception of all three shows have been fantastic and the shows are a "must see".  Tickets can be purchased at the box office prior to the performances at Jackson College, Potter Center.  Other guests:  Jackson Area Career Center JROTC Instructor Sgt.
