MIS Tickets Now on Sale

  Michigan International Speedway Senior Director Josh Burgett announced tickets go on sale Monday, February 2 for all of the 2015 season events at the speedway.  Tickets and packages for both NASCAR weekends, Michigan Wine & Beer Fest, Faster Horses and Camping can be purchased by visiting mispeedway.com.    Other guests:  Bruce Van Eyck, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson;  Michael Bannasch, Willis & Jurasek, with "Tax Talk";  Robert Ernst, Jackson Coffee Company's "Coffee Talk";  Dave DeBaker with movie reviews. City Council to Consider Millage Request

The Jackson City Council will hold a special meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm to consider adopting language for a ballot proposal in May.  Vice Mayor Derek Dobies explained the special meeting was needed to allow council members time to study the issue.  The vote failed when first presented Tuesday.  The proposal, if adopted, will request city voters approve a ten year 3 mill road funding tax.  The tax would allow the reconstruction of twenty miles of city streets over two years.  Other guests:  Michigan Center Schools Superintendent Scott Koziol;  Pat Willis and Dan Machnik, Willis & Machnik Financial Services;  Jackson Area Catholic Schools Principals Kristi Blair (St. John's), Liz Hartley (Queen's) and Matt Berkemeier (St. Mary's);  Hillsdale County Sheriff Deputy John Gates, Polar Plunge;  Sue Lovell, Cascades Humane Society Pet of the Week.

Jackson Friendly Home Fundraiser

Jackson Friendly Home board members Chad Kennedy and Debbie Eccleton are planning a fundraising event for the Jackson Friendly Home.  "Share the Love" will be held Friday, February 13 at the Cascades Manor House.  Along with food and drink, there will be music by John Griffin  for dancing and a silent auction.
