Concord Classic Weekend Festival

Concord Community Schools and the Village of Concord will be hosting a fun filled weekend, “The Concord Classic” June 26, 27 and 28th in downtown Concord. The weekend events include a Friday night block party with live music, a nine-hole golf scramble, 3 on 3 basketball, 4 on 4 sand volleyball and 2-person cornhole/baggo tournaments. The Concord Classic 5K will run through the streets of Concord and the Falling Waters Trail. Race events will start at Concord High School and include a ½ mile kids fun run. Throughout the weekend there will be sidewalk and yard sales, a community garage sale, kids tent and activities, food, entertainment, bingo, euchre and fishing competitions. The Concord Fire Department is sponsoring the Classic Car Show. Friday night’s activities begin at 6pm, Saturday race registration begins at 6:30am. A bike race, fishing tournament and Little League game are among the Sunday events that begin at 8am. 25 Spring Arbor student-athletes earn Academic All-Conference honors

  SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Crossroads League has announced its Academic All-League award winners for the 2015 winter and spring seasons, and 25 Spring Arbor University student-athletes were recognized for their academic excellence. A total of 216 student-athletes from the Crossroads League’s ten member institutions participating in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s track and field, women’s track and field, baseball and softball received the honor. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Crossroads League, a student-athlete must have reached junior status academically and possess a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the entire academic semester in which the student-athlete participated in the league sport. In addition to the 26 student-athletes honored from the fall sports season, the Cougars boasted an impressive 51 Academic All-League performers for the 2014-15 year.
